Will GST affect the process of product listing?

There will be no change in the process of product listing.

Will there be any impact on product pricing (with possibility of tax arbitrage reducing)?

With the CENVAT credit available for every input purchase, it is expected that the price of the products shall get reduced.

How will tax mapping change under GST?

Tax mapping will be done on the basis of product category, subcategory and product types. All the applicable HSN codes will be shown against the above classification.

Will I be able to select the HSN code while listing a product and/or change the mapping of existing products?

For every product, a default HSN code will be provided to you that will be based on the category of the product. If you are not satisfied with the mapped HSN code, you can raise a query for change of HSN code.

With each seller’s turnover being different, will the HSN code vary from seller to seller for same product listing on Snapdeal?

No. Snapdeal will use the eight-digit HSN code across sellers for the same product type without any exception for seller’s turnover.

How will the tax rates for products be defined under GST? Will I be able to see applicable taxes at product level on the seller panel?

The government is yet to communicate rates for different product categories. Also, you will be able to see CGST, SGST and IGST details on the seller panel for product categories.
